COMMONWEALTH ICT PLAYERS AND FINANCIAL EXPERTS TO MEET IN LONDON FORUM

London, August 8, 2012 – The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) and international consultancy BroadGroup have announced that a new forum for ICT players and financiers, will take place in London November 16, 2012 (www.commonwealth-fif.com).

The annual conference will be joined by the leadership of ICT firms from Commonwealth countries, finance executives, investors, law firms and regulators to discuss the opportunities for innovative international investment partnerships to accelerate economic performance.

Reflecting the objectives of the forum, senior representatives will seek to prioritise their top investment requirements and highlight critical opportunities to accelerate business growth in information, communications and technology.

A unique focus will be given to the evolution of digital hubs and how they serve to increase the opportunity for information eco-systems which enable ICT development. Containerised and modular datacentres, fibre connectivity and digital terrestrial transmission networks collectively intersect to create completely new investment propositions.

Vendor financing and PPP models, accelerating mobile infrastructure and revenue growth, achieving strategic growth through M&A transactions as well as a current assessment of regulatory and legal risks and barriers will also be discussed during the one-day meeting.

“The forum is vital and much needed,” said Bashir Patel, Chief Operating Officer at the CTO. “It will bring the attention of investors to the array of evolving opportunities, and equally create a unique networking platform for innovative ICT players in these countries to meet financial and professional intermediaries engaged in these markets.”

“The Commonwealth represents a significant number of emerging markets particularly in Africa,” commented Philip Low, Managing Director of BroadGroup. “The London forum is an annual event for players in these potentially enormous markets, to network with the professional sources of funding, advice and information that they will continue to require over the years ahead.”

The event will be held at the America Square Conference Centre in the City of London.
