Broadgroup Announces Equinix Sponsors 4th Data Centres Europe 2008 Conference and Expo

Competition and Opportunity Dominant Themes for 2008
LONDON--(Business Wire)--
Equinix, the global provider of carrier neutral data centres, and
internet exchanges for the Enterprise, content companies and network
services providers, is to act as Silver Sponsor for the forthcoming
annual Data Centres Europe 2008 conference and expo.

Now in its fourth year, Data Centres Europe will sustain its
reputation as the provider of original content derived from research
and the regional networking hub for companies in Europe engaged in the
sector. The event also includes the annual Data Centres Europe Dinner
and Awards Ceremony.

The programme for 2008 will focus on the increasingly rigorous
competition occurring in the Data Centre sector, and promises to host
a range of critical topics that will provide insight into these
issues. The annual review of trends in data centre services,
operations, pricing and growth, trends in technical property in
Europe, and the rising importance and increasing competition in
managed services and how it contributes to ROI collectively provide a
detailed landscape of new trends, threats and opportunities.

"In sponsoring Data Centres Europe, Equinix is highlighting its
commitment to expanding in the region. Through our recent acquisition
of Virtu in the Netherlands, Equinix has broadened its ability to
provide customers with a comprehensive global data centre and
interconnection services platform across North America, Europe and
Asia-Pacific" commented Michael Winterson, vice president, sales and
marketing Europe, Equinix.

This year will also facilitate the first Tier 1 end users panel,
with participation of Microsoft, HSBC, Diageo and other leading
companies. Content storage and network distribution remains an
unfinished story, and a highly competitive arena for a range of player
profiles. Providers are developing eco systems that add value as the
media and application hosting services intensify and will address the
real competitive advantages in this arena.

CEOs from leading Data Centre organisations will discuss the
European economy, the current slow down and how that could impact
Enterprise migration to third party outsourcing and define investment
prospects for data centres over the next twelve months.

In a new feature, new Data Centre build projects will showcase
some of the newest developments planned and underway, and an
Investment panel with contributions from RBC Capital Markets,
Citigroup and AHV Associates will discuss their perspectives of Data
Centre stocks, willingness to fund new build, risks to growth and
future trends.

The theme of competition extends the debate to central Europe and
North Africa and the opportunities for locating Data Centres in these
geographies and Eastern and Central Europe is the theme of a special
workshop by global consultancy Arup.

Technological leadership may be enabled through achieving higher
and more complex levels of virtualisation such as application hosting
and storage. Experts will delivery compelling insight into these
issues, and assess the disruptive case for utility computing.

Power and Green issues remain constant themes of debate in the
sector and noted expert Ian Bitterlin of Chloride Power, will address
the question of AC versus DC power. Power in eastern and Central
Europe remains an enigma for operators and enterprises and special
insight will be provided by Active Power. In the Green Debate,
participants take a second look at what is really happening and
whether the industry in Europe in suffering from green fatigue.

Migration Solutions will also present a valuable workshop; 'How to
retrofit your data centre', responding to significant interest from IT
managers across the region.

Sponsors include Migration Solutions, Equinix, Datacenter
Luxembourg/Inexio, Cellwatch, ARUP, Active Power, Lamda Hellix Data
Centers, Tyco Electronics, the Colocation Exchange, Armstrong and
TelecityGroup. Media Partners include the Web Hosting Industry Review,
Data Centre Solutions and Data Centre News.
