DATA CENTRE INDUSTRY UNDERGOING "MONUMENTAL CHANGES" - KEY THEME AT POWER AND COOLING EVENT
London, 4 September 2008
– The forthcoming Power and Cooling for Data Centres – World Forum (London 2-3 October –

) will host a series of discussions and debates focused on what is being described as “monumental changes” that Data Centres are now undergoing as they confront the process of change imposed by the pressing requirement for energy efficiency and carbon reductions.
The World Forum will bring together experts in the field of power, cooling, Green, environmental, renewable and innovative technologies in a content rich programme that tackles the core challenges confronting data centres now.
“The Data Centre industry is going through monumental changes and the focus on Green IT and energy efficiency is fundamentally changing how businesses operate, commented Michael Manos, general manager, Data Centres for Microsoft Corporation who is keynoting at the event.

This year’s speaker academy bring much thought leadership to the World Forum, which will also include a special and actionable workshop provided by BICSI: “Using just 10 design criteria understand how to build your data centre to be not only efficient but standards compliant.” In addition the audience will hear from investors in new data centre build plans, and case studies of how power and cooling is being approached as well as new locations for data centres with land, connectivity and cheaper power resources.
