TELECITYGROUP CEO TO ADDRESS ASIA REGIONAL DATA CENTRE CONFERENCE
London and Singapore, 2 September 2008 – Consulting firm BroadGroup who research and produce the 2nd Data Centres Asia (DCA08) the annual Asia Pacific regional data centre conference and expo, has announced that Michael Tobin, CEO of TelecityGroup, the pan European data centre operator of independent data centres, will join the CxO Roundtable, which received much acclaim in 2007. The event takes place November 12-13 in Singapore (www.datacentres.com/dca).
Current research by BroadGroup suggests that Asia is now positioned for significant growth in the data centre sector. The market holds some similarities to Europe several years ago, although the player landscape is markedly different. There are few pan-Asian players and a recent alliance between 4 independent data centre operators in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam may also herald a shift in market play. The presence of property players, investors and entrepreneurs across the region is also evident, and a special investor session will form part of the programme.
As a truly Asian networking hub, DCA08 will be the largest regional gathering of data centre operators, enterprise users – both local and MNCs - suppliers and other professional intermediaries engaged in the sector. Attendees gain special benefits from networking with peers, C level decision makers and influencers, ongoing business opportunities and lead generation.
TelecityGroup specialises in the design, build, and management of highly connected and secure environments in which customers can house their technical, web and internet infrastructure. Headquartered in London, TelecityGroup operates 20 network independent data centres across seven European countries. Each of its data centres acts a connectivity and content hub facilitating the storage, sharing and distribution of data, content and media.
“I am delighted to participate in this regional event,” commented Michael Tobin, CEO of TelecityGroup. “The continued growth of the internet economy and the evolving online needs of business internationally are combining to drive the increase in demand for high-quality data centres. It is therefore a pleasure to relate what we have learned in Europe to our peers in the Asia Pacific region.”
“The presence of TelecityGroup’s CEO attests to the importance now attached to the data centre sector in Asia and to this event,” commented Nicola Hayes, vice president of BroadGroup. “The sheer range of challenges and critical factors impacting future expansion presents the new regional forum with much to consider and discuss and uniquely brings together the leadership of providers and users, investors and vendors, managed service providers and specialist data centre facility owners, enabling a compelling and unique opportunity for gaining deep market insight and high level networking. DCA08 continues to sustain its reputation as the only Regional Asian event for Data Centres.”
